Relaxin’ with Miles with Miles Black

About the Host: Based out of Vancouver, British Columbia, Miles Black has been performing and recording professionally since 1980 (at the age of 14). Since then Miles has played around the world with many of the jazz greats, including Harry Sweets Edison, Maynard Ferguson, Houston Person, Mark Murphy, Sheila Jordan, Max Roach, Lew Tabackin, Chuck Israels, Dee Daniels, Ernestine Anderson, Paul Horn, Skywalk, Slide Hampton, PJ Perry, Fraser MacPherson and Claudio Roditi. Composer, arranger,
producer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, Miles also co-leads his own jazz quartet “Altered Laws” with world renowned flautist/sax player Tom Keenlyside (see alteredlaws.com), and is a member of the Oliver Gannon Quartet.
About the Show: This program will feature the soothing sounds of cool jazz, by such
artists as Chet Baker, Miles Davis, Paul Desmond and Red Garland. Between songs, Miles will provide details about the recordings, as well as personal anecdotes and interesting facts about songs, the recording sessions, and the musicians.
