I don’t know why I put myself through this. It’s bad enough I read books by writers who are so much better than I am at storytelling. But then I punish myself a little more by interviewing them. Richard Doetsch is one of those guys. He’s so good at sucking me into his fast-paced adventure-slash-crime stories! But just when I think he’s finally written another just good enough story, there comes a turn, a twist, a gadget, an inside-out moment I didn’t see coming that makes me want to chuck my computer and flip burgers for a living. And yes, Half Past Dawn is another one of those.
